O presente texto pretende trazer algumas reflexões acerca da importância da leitura dentro e fora da escola – para a construção de conhecimentos e produção de sentidos. Descreve finalidades e modos de ler dos sujeitos leitores e os significados subjacentes à prática da leitura  e ao processo de alfabetização.
